10 Good DEED Ideas to Make a Positive Impact in 2019

A good deed brightens a dark world! Listed below are 10 strategies to incorporate good deeds in your 2019 goals.


1. Decide to make ONE change in yourself that will make you a better person. It all starts from within!


2. Stick up for what is right. Whether is it a kid getting bullied at school or a group of people speaking negatively about a person/situation, do not be afraid of having a voice.


3. Hold the door open for a stranger.


4. Smile at a stranger...it may be the positive sign someone needs in that moment.


5. Write someone a kind note--it may be just what they need to keep going that day.


6. Tell your parents/significant other/best friend/mentor/teacher how much you appreciate them. We should all do this more often as life is so short and kindness is free.


7. Be a good listener. STOP texting/multi-tasking and pay attention to who is speaking to you. They may just need someone to listen to feel heard.


8. Offer to buy someone on the street a meal or even provide them with a blanket/coat to keep them warm.


9. Help your classmate succeed! Whether you are studying for a board exam or a simple subject where you know you can offer help--do it! Share you study guide, study tips, and resources knowing that it could help someone else find success. Don't be intimidated by someone else's success because it truly doesn't take away from your own!


10. Apologize. No matter the situation, if you feel a sense of looming guilt or if you feel like you could have handled a situation better--don't be too prideful to refrain from giving an apology. A simple apology can go a long way for you and for the person who deserves to hear it.


Also, remember that good deeds are what you can GIVE and not about what you receive in return. Don't do things for others in hopes of a thank you. Do it out of the goodness of your heart knowing that you can provide something positive to the world in that moment. You never know the battle someone is fighting internally or externally. All you can control is your actions and reactions. So make them positive. Make them count. Make them good. <3
